Dear Sunapee Community,
We’re excited to share that planning is underway for our Nation’s 250th Birthday and Sunapee’s Independence Day Celebration — and yes, that includes FIREWORKS!
In partnership with the Town’s Recreation Department and the Sunapee Fourth of July Committee, we’re working to bring together all the traditions our community loves: The Friends of the Abbott Library's Pancake Breakfast, the Abbott Library Board of Trustees' Book Sale, a festive parade, music, food, games and a lively evening in the Harbor — all topped off with fireworks over the lake.
The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, and the FIREWORKS and music in the harbor on Sunday July 5th.
As in past years, this event is made possible entirely through private donations. There are no town funds budgeted for this celebration, but the fireworks are under contract — and now it’s up to us to bring the full vision to life. Our fundraising goal this year is $40,000, and every contribution helps.
If you’re able, please consider supporting this much-loved tradition:
-
By check: Payable to Town of Sunapee, mailed to: 23 Edgemont Road, Sunapee, NH 03782
Or
- Online - We’re happy to recognize sponsors publicly unless you prefer to remain anonymous. Contributions can be earmarked for fireworks or other celebration elements. In addition to donations, we also welcome volunteers! If you’d like to get involved and help bring this celebration to life, please reach out — it’s a great way to support your town and meet neighbors.
Thank you for helping us celebrate Sunapee, community, and the spirit of our Nation’s 250th Birthday We’re looking forward to another memorable event together.
With appreciation,
Steve McGrath
