The Town Manager helps oversee day-to-day operations and administration of services in Sunapee. This includes managing department heads and town staff and serving as a liaison between Town Offices and the Sunapee Selectboard. The Town Manager listens to community needs and concerns and develops strategic plans to address them. Other duties include spearheading annual budget setting.

The Town Manager does not currently have open office hours, but we do host monthly Community Conversations that provide an opportunity to discuss ideas and concerns with the Town Manager in an informal setting. The Town Manager leads the annual budget-setting process through the review of the past year(s) budget(s), meeting with department heads to gain an understanding of their budget needs, soliciting community input, and compiling various scenarios to reflect how the passage (or denial of) the proposed operating and default budgets would impact Town administration and services. Once preliminary budget figures are established, the Town Manager compiles a Budget Book and presentation to be considered by the Sunapee Selectboard. Thereafter, several budget meetings are held prior to the Selectboard finalizing a budget that will then be considered by the community at the annual Town Meeting.
