Chief E. Neill Cobb
Chief E. Neill Cobb has served in New Hampshire law enforcement since 1998, beginning his career with the Newbury Police Department. He joined the Sunapee Police Department as a Patrol Officer in 2004 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2009, Lieutenant in 2018, and Chief of Police in 2022.
Throughout his career, Chief Cobb has played a key role in the department's leadership, succession planning, policy development, and community policing initiatives. He also served as Interim Chief of Police from May through November 2022 while continuing to fulfill his responsibilities as Lieutenant.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Chief Cobb has served as a Communications Specialist with New London Dispatch, a Patrol Officer for the Town of Bradford, and an EMT with the Sunapee Fire Department. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Castleton University, completed Command Training through Roger Williams University, and earned the prestigious FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award. Chief Cobb also serves as the department's firearms instructor, traffic accident reconstructionist, and background investigator.
Lieutenant Timothy Puchtler
Lieutenant Timothy Puchtler joined the Sunapee Police Department as a full-time officer in 2006. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2012 and Lieutenant in 2023.
Lieutenant Puchtler serves as the department's Police Prosecutor, representing the department in court and working closely with prosecutors and defense attorneys throughout the judicial process. He also assists with criminal investigations, is a certified Field Training Officer (FTO), and formerly served as Sunapee's D.A.R.E. instructor.
He attended Northeastern University and, in 2022, earned the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award after completing the Supervisor, Command, and Executive Leadership Institutes. Outside of policing, Lieutenant Puchtler also serves as the varsity basketball coach at Sunapee Middle High School.
Sergeant Nicholas Boisvert
Sergeant Nicholas Boisvert joined the Sunapee Police Department as a part-time officer in 2017 before becoming a full-time officer in 2019. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2023 and serves as the department's Patrol Supervisor.
Sergeant Boisvert serves as the department's Law Enforcement Against Drugs (L.E.A.D.) instructor at Sunapee Central Elementary School, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Investigator, Firearms Instructor, and certified Field Training Officer (FTO). As an FTO, he is responsible for mentoring, evaluating, and preparing newly hired officers as they transition from the police academy to independent patrol duties. He has completed Roger Williams University's First Line Supervisor Course and the 40-hour Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training.
Prior to joining Sunapee full-time, Sergeant Boisvert also served with the New Hampshire Marine Patrol on Lake Winnipesaukee. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Homeland Security from the University of New Hampshire.
Officer Cooper Dion
Officer Cooper Dion joined the Sunapee Police Department in 2023 and graduated from the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council Full-Time Police Academy later that year. He also completed the Criminal Justice Program at New Hampshire Technical Institute.
Officer Dion serves as the department's Physical Training (PT) Instructor and is committed to maintaining officer fitness and readiness. Before entering law enforcement, he completed the Law Enforcement Program at the Huot Career and Technical Center while attending Belmont High School.
Officer Jeffrey Reed
Officer Jeffrey Reed has proudly served the Sunapee Police Department since 1991, beginning as a part-time officer before becoming a full-time officer in 1994. Following a distinguished full-time career, he continues to serve the department as a part-time officer.
A graduate of Stevens High School, Officer Reed has more than three decades of dedicated service to the Town of Sunapee and continues to provide valuable experience and mentorship to the department.
Officer Nick Henault
Officer Nick Henault joined the Sunapee Police Department as a part-time officer in 2022 after graduating from the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council Part-Time Police Academy in 2021.
Officer Henault is a graduate of Newport High School. In addition to his service with the Sunapee Police Department, he manages his family's tire business and has served as a volunteer firefighter with the Croydon Fire Department since 2019.
Officer John Niederriter
Officer John Niederriter joined the Sunapee Police Department as a part-time officer in 2026. A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, he previously served as a full-time police officer with the Sutton Police Department before continuing his law enforcement career with the St. Augustine Police Department in Florida.
Officer Niederriter holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Franklin Pierce University. Having recently returned to New Hampshire, he brings years of law enforcement experience to the department and, because of his prior certification and experience, was able to transition quickly into service with Sunapee.
Officer Jeremy Soulia
Officer Jeremy Soulia joined the Sunapee Police Department as a part-time officer in 2020 and graduated from the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council Full-Time Police Academy in 2021.
He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Conservation Law Enforcement with a minor in Psychology from Unity College in Maine. In 2022, Officer Soulia joined the Grantham Police Department as a full-time officer while continuing to serve the Town of Sunapee as a part-time officer.
