The Declaration of Independence at 250: Tuesday 4/21@ 5:30 PM: The Fourth of July this year will be the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which set in motion all of American history as we know it. But the author of the Declaration, Thomas Jefferson, intended it to be a statement as much about the past as the future of his new country. In order to understand how the Declaration shaped the next 250 years, we must understand the history from which it emerged, and its origins as a wartime statement of rebellion by thirteen disparate colonies trying to unite against the world’s foremost superpower against all odds.
Medical Aid in Dying - What It Is & What It Is Not: Saturday 4/25 @ 1:30 PM: To date, 12 states and the District of Columbia - but not New Hampshire - have passed legislation allowing for medical assistance in dying. The Alliance is a grassroots effort dedicated to empowering people to make informed end-of-life decisions and advocates for medical aid in dying in our state.
