UPDATE: Catch Basin Cleaning & Culvert Flushing through June 19th

The Highway Department will begin annual catch basin cleaning and culvert flushing on Monday, June 1, 2026. 

Work is now expected to continue through Friday, June 19, 2026, weather permitting.

This annual maintenance effort is an important part of the Town’s stormwater management work. Crews will be cleaning, inspecting, and removing debris from catch basins, as well as flushing culverts throughout town, to improve drainage, maintain proper stormwater flow, and help reduce localized roadway flooding during heavy rain events.

During this time, residents and motorists may notice work crews, vacuum trucks, and temporary lane shifts in active work areas. Minor traffic delays may occur. Drivers are asked to use caution, reduce speed near crews and equipment, and follow all posted signage and traffic control directions.

Residents may also notice bright yellow pavement markings painted near catch basins. These markings are used by crews to identify structures that have been cleaned.
